About Element of Risk

Let me tell you about me, the author.

I was born in 1952 in Carlisle Cumbria, England.  I initially trained to be a hairdresser and had my own business by the time I was 18 years old.  I did love hairdressing but I loved writing more.  I moved away from Carlisle when I was 19 and met my husband a few years later.  We married in 1978 and had our first son in December 1978.  I settled down to domesticity and had our second son Daniel in 1981.  My husband was a Potash miner.  Daniel was born with a harelip and cleft palette and he needed a lot of care and attention.  Move forward 21 years.  Mike, my husband leave the mine and we take on a local pub.  Suddenly life is twice as busy as before.  For our anniversary, in February 2000 we took our selves off to Cyprus for a holiday and fell in love with the island.  I wanted to live and write in Cyprus and in 2003 we did just that.  I had started to write Element of Risk in 1994 but only wrote about 3 chapters and put it away.  I resurrected the manuscript and finished the book in 3 months.  It has been a long and tortuous road to publication and I have had to go to America to finally get published.  My second book, All That Remains is looking for a book deal in New York as we speak.  Element of Risk is only available at present in hard back but in a couple of months it will be on the shelves in paper back.  Keep and eye out for it!
